AutoCAD Product Key (Latest)
AutoCAD has been generally well received by critics. According to the magazine CAD Manager, AutoCAD ranked third in a survey of the 50 most popular CAD software applications. AutoCAD sold 2.7 million copies in 2016.
The AutoCAD® program is a trademark of Autodesk, Inc. The product name Autodesk refers to the namesake of the software application and the name for the company. Autodesk is a privately held corporation that was founded in 1982 by three developers who developed a small-scale solution to automate the mechanical drafting process.
The AutoCAD® brand became a household name in the late 1980s with the introduction of the first integrated CAD software package. One of the co-creators of AutoCAD, Leon Stauffer, became AutoDesk president, and the company started expanding its product line. Although very similar to the first program, AutoCAD was a full-featured desktop application that allowed users to interact with the computer and the CAD program in more depth. It allowed users to integrate 2D and 3D drawings together in a single window. The first version of AutoCAD was released on December 8, 1982.
AutoCAD LT was introduced in 1990 as a low-cost solution to CAD for small businesses. Subsequently, Autodesk released a series of new versions, including AutoCAD 2007. AutoCAD 2009 introduced the AutoCAD 360 technology and was later renamed AutoCAD 2010. AutoCAD 2010 allowed users to start and manage drawings on a mobile device through either the software or mobile apps.
With the introduction of AutoCAD 2013, Autodesk expanded its market to larger businesses with the addition of industry specific functionality. AutoCAD 2013 was renamed AutoCAD 2017 with the introduction of AutoCAD 2017. AutoCAD 2017 included the Warp and Roll feature which allowed users to perform freehand rotations and planar transformations on the canvas. AutoCAD 2017 was also the first version of AutoCAD to run on Windows 10.
In 2019, Autodesk introduced AutoCAD 2020. This version includes several new features, including the ability to read and edit cloud files directly in the CAD application. Additionally, several cloud service providers offer additional functionality within AutoCAD.
AutoCAD is a commercial CAD program that has been generally well received by users and critics alike. Since its introduction in 1982, the program has grown to include functionality
AutoCAD For Windows
Reverse engineering—autoCAD generates a source code version of each drawing file.
AutoCAD LT generates source code of the application, including its core, when the application is run.
AutoCAD LT and AutoCAD 2005 or later in combination with the CodeServer (program) can use objects from other AutoCAD versions to read and write their objects.
The 2D/3D Web SDK allows AutoCAD to access web-based data services.
AutoCAD supports Portable Library (PL) and Dynamic Application (DA) modules. PL and DA modules use VPL and VDA, the AutoCAD Visual LISP and the Visual LISP Dynamic Application formats, respectively.
An AutoCAD plug-in architecture allows third-party software developers to add new features to AutoCAD.
AutoCAD is one of the oldest programs still in widespread use, and has been continually upgraded.
Users can use both the open-source CAD software Blender and the more commercial but freely available 3D modeling software, 3ds Max.
Access via a web browser or Internet-connected mobile device
AutoCAD users can connect to AutoCAD via a web browser on a computer or device and browse and run the program without installing the software. This feature is called AutoCAD Web App.
AutoCAD is also available on the Internet, which allows users to access the program via a web browser and work online, without installing the application.
AutoCAD LT (formerly AutoCAD R14), a version of AutoCAD written in C++, allows users to run an executable program within the AutoCAD LT environment, without requiring them to install AutoCAD. The executable can be compiled from its source code. Unlike full AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT is much faster than full AutoCAD, as it is not as feature-rich.
AutoCAD LT was first released in 2002 and is now available for all platforms. It was previously available only for Windows, but a Mac version was released in 2019.
Third-party add-on products
AutoCAD Exchange Apps are third-party plug-ins for AutoCAD. All share a common architecture that allows the user to easily integrate AutoCAD applications into the AutoCAD environment, without requiring the AutoCAD LT or AutoCAD Enterprise software. AutoCAD Exchange Apps

What’s New in the?
Colors, symbols, shapes, and lines are added to CAD drawings automatically when you use AutoCAD. Insert the image of a printed sheet into the drawing and then click to insert the symbol. (video: 3:40 min.)
A drafting table with a hole to support the arm of a CNC router is an example of a drafting asset. Use the new Markup Assist feature to add a pin to your drawing when you place the drafting asset on the drawing. (video: 2:30 min.)
Import symbols from 3D and 2D files using the Insert Symbols task. Click the Import Symbol task, browse to the file on your computer, and then select it. (video: 2:12 min.)
Use the new Graphics Printing feature to create printed graphics from a DXF, DWG, or PDF file. The printed graphic will be designed on the fly based on the designer settings. This new feature enables you to create consistent, high-quality graphics for every project. (video: 2:24 min.)
Graphical Zoom Tools:
The Graphical Zoom tools are a new set of tools that can zoom in and out of a CAD drawing to see the details of the drawing more clearly. There are two additional tools, found under the Options menu: Graphic Scale and Object Size, to control the size of the zoomed drawing. (video: 1:15 min.)
The revised Graphical Zoom Tools will help improve your CAD drawings. (video: 1:30 min.)
New Surface Thinning Tools:
The new Surface Thinning tools enable you to selectively thicken or thin a surface of your drawing. They are found under the Tools menu: Edit Geometry > Surface Thinning and Hole Thinning. (video: 2:17 min.)
Creating Design History:
The Design History feature enables you to keep track of changes to a drawing document as you make changes over time. You can use the Design History to quickly restore a previous drawing to a current state or to roll back a change to a drawing. (video: 2:08 min.)
Use the new Drafting simplification tools to quickly simplify drawing elements or improve the precision of your drawings. There are two new tools, found under the Graphics menu: Simplify Drawing and Dimensioned Graphic. (video: 2
